Abstract

The group proposal was done in cooperation with 4 of classmates. The goal of this assignment was to collaboratively work on an innovative solution to a problem. The problem we chose was to improve the outdated traffic signals in the modern world. Most of these signals operate on simple timers and can be a issue for people are trying to travel somewhere as efficiently as possible. There will be many situations where drivers are forced to stop for red lights at empty intersections, be stuck in traffic, or be delayed because lights aren’t quick enough to change. Through our proposal, we explain how this problem can be fixed by implementing vehicle detection sensors; first in Brooklyn and eventually the world.
